Before co-founding Croft & Johnson LLP, Jordan practiced at Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan LLP, as well as a litigation boutique specializing in international disputes. He has represented individuals, corporations, and sovereign states in matters ranging across domains including entertainment, intellectual property, defamation, free speech, antitrust, energy, defense, cryptocurrency, securities, and insurance. He has practiced in myriad fora including New York State Court, the Delaware Court of Chancery, various U.S. federal courts and international tribunals in New York, D.C., Paris, London, Beijing, Tokyo, and Hong Kong.

Jordan’s current practice focuses primarily on entertainment law, where he combines transactional and litigation expertise to serve as outside general counsel for filmmakers, production companies, and creatives. He structures and negotiates rights acquisitions, financing agreements, and other deals, while providing strategic IP and disputes counsel. Having worked in production, Jordan also brings an understanding of the creative and business challenges in the industry, allowing him to deliver practical, results-oriented counsel whether at the negotiating table or in the courtroom.

Represented one of Latin America's largest cryptocurrency companies before the Court of Chancery in Delaware in relation to various claims against the company by one of its founders after his position was terminated.

Represented a writer-director and co-production company in a complex contract dispute against a principal production company for its refusal to release a co-produced film.

Advised a prominent blockchain company, in coordination with a private investigation firm, on its response to the threatened release of material designed to defame one of its designers and harm the company's reputation.

Acted as outside counsel for various independent production companies on structuring and negotiating rights acquisitions and financing agreements.

Advised an independent production company on various matters in relation to the production and distribution of a feature film including contract negotiations, insurance claims, guild requirements, and various clearance issues.

Defended a former advisor of Donald J. Trump in an AAA arbitration against a claim brought by President Trump that the advisor had breached a non-disclosure agreement by speaking with reporters about White House activities.

Acted as outside counsel to an independent production company on various start-up issues including legal formation, seed funding, debt financing, and trademark protection.

Defended a French state-owned defense company against a claim made by the Republic of China (Taiwan) that the company had secretly paid billions of euros in commissions to politicians in violation of a purchase agreement.

Represented a reinsurance company in relation to one of the largest multi-district litigations in American history arising out of a mass tort affecting U.S. military personnel.

Represented two monoline insurance companies in an action against underwriting banks arising out of the default of bonds issued by the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico and its instrumentalities.

Represented a Chinese investor in connection with a CIETAC arbitration concerning the disputed ownership of a major Chinese company.

Represented an English energy company before the International Court of Justice claiming that the Republic of India’s tax scheme violated its fair and equitable treatment obligations.

Represented a Swiss electrical-equipment company in an ICC arbitration seated in London concerning alleged defects in a key component used in a major copper mine in Latin America.

Represented an Italian green-energy company and its subsidiaries in an ICC arbitration seated in Mexico concerning the performance and management of the largest solar power facilities in the Americas.

Defended a New York municipality in state and federal court against claims brought by banks to enforce purported loan obligations arising out of a complex conspiracy involving bribery of public officials, fraud and obstruction of justice.

Represented a Dutch telecommunications company in an ICSID arbitration claiming the Republic of Serbia breached its fair and equitable treatment obligations by giving preferential treatment to a Serbian state-owned company.

Represented a Singaporean shipping company in an ICSID arbitration claiming the United Mexican States expropriated Singaporean ships.

Sean is an entertainment lawyer and film producer. He first gained expertise in complex litigation through his work at DLA Piper LLP, where he handled international disputes on behalf of and against foreign governments; represented major corporations and executives with respect to securities fraud claims; and conducted sensitive cross-border investigations in criminal matters brought by the U.S. Department of Justice and the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.

Since establishing his entertainment law practice, Sean has represented clients on a wide array of film-related matters, including intricate film investment agreements, contentious rights disputes, and strategic intellectual property protection. Sean is committed to providing his clients with sophisticated, effective counsel, navigating the complexities of the entertainment industry and helping them achieve their creative and commercial objectives.
